Privacy Policy

Effective 9 September 2026

Pivot is designed to manage windows without collecting the content inside them. This policy explains what the app and website handle.

Window and layout data

Pivot uses macOS Accessibility APIs to read window titles, application identifiers, positions, and sizes so it can save, arrange, and restore windows. Pivot does not capture the visual content of your windows and does not request Screen Recording permission.

My Layouts, preferences, shortcuts, gestures, and Bento Windows information are stored locally on your Mac.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud Sync, Pivot stores its settings file in your own iCloud Drive. Apple processes that data under your Apple account and Apple’s terms. You can leave iCloud Sync disabled.

Licensing and purchases

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy receives the information needed to process payment, tax, receipts, refunds, and fraud prevention.

When you activate, validate, or deactivate Pivot Pro, the app communicates with Lemon Squeezy’s license service. That request may include the license key, license-instance identifier, a device-instance name, and network information normally associated with an internet request. Pivot stores the license key, purchase email returned by the service, instance identifier, and a generated device identifier in local preferences.

Analytics and crash reports

The Pivot app does not include third-party usage analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. The public website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and first-party aggregate events, including coarse device/platform categories, button placement, experiment version, and one download-conversion and one checkout-conversion event per page load, plus clicks from guides to the product page and from download instructions to the setup guide (without a visitor or session identifier), to count page views, download clicks, checkout clicks, completed Lemon Squeezy orders, and refunds. Payment events contain a Lemon Squeezy order ID, product and variant names, order currency, aggregate USD amounts, and campaign tags when available. They do not contain customer names, email addresses, receipt URLs, payment details, or license keys. Pivot does not add cookies, persistent visitor identifiers, IP addresses, user agents, referrers, or window content to these events.

Cloudflare may process ordinary request information, such as time, requested URL, IP address, user agent, and response status, to provide hosting, security, reliability, and privacy-focused website measurement. This information is not used to inspect your Mac workspace.

Browser storage and your choices

The website remembers your selected language. Campaign tags are used only for the current page visit and are not saved in browser storage. Old campaign storage from earlier versions is removed. First-party page-view and click measurement respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Cloudflare provides separate privacy-focused traffic measurement as described above.

Support services load only when you request support. Email remains available without loading the embedded form. This page does not load advertising trackers.

Support messages

If you contact support, Pivot receives the information you choose to send, such as your email address, macOS and Pivot versions, and problem description. Do not send passwords, license keys, payment-card information, confidential files, or private window contents.

When live chat is available, choosing a chat, feature request, or feedback option loads Crisp, our chat provider. Crisp processes your messages, information you submit, and technical connection data, and may use cookies or browser storage to maintain the conversation. When the embedded Contact Form is enabled, opening the support menu loads the form from Crisp. The form uses hCaptcha for spam protection, which processes technical data for verification. You can use email instead.

Sharing and retention

Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate purchases, licensing, email, hosting, and optional iCloud Sync, or when legally required. Support messages and operational logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, accounting, and legal obligations.

Your choices

You may leave iCloud Sync disabled, avoid sending support information, remove Pivot’s Accessibility access in System Settings, and uninstall Pivot. To request access to or deletion of support information controlled by Pivot, email hello@getpivot.one. Purchase records controlled by Lemon Squeezy may need to be handled through its customer support and may be retained for legal obligations.

Changes

Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
